‘Samsara’ celebrates the power, beauty, glory of creation
by Brent Marchant September 14, 2012While “Samsara” has been rather loosely characterized as a “documentary,” that label doesn’t do the film justice. It’s more of a cinematic meditation, a reflection on our world and what’s gone into its creation in its present state. It consists of only images, music and occasional nature sounds, with no dialogue, narration or graphics.

She was confident but aware of her own limitations. She was curious but not invasive, willing to give whatever information she asked of the other. She was. . . . whole and at home with herself and the world in way I could not remember being as a child.

READ: Why is Love so Painful? by Pragito Dove
by Pragito Dove March 29, 2012Love is painful because it creates the way for joy, for ecstasy, for bliss. Love is painful because it transforms you. Love is growth.

READ: What Is Compassion by Oriah Mountain Dreamer
by Oriah Mountain Dreamer March 29, 2012Recently, a woman I met told me about her daughter who is living in South America. Like me you probably have a closet full of clothes and no matter how many outfits you have there is that one favorite that you always feel good wearing. It is your standby. Your go-to. Your I feel skinny, radiant and alive in this outfit outfit. You choose it purposefully because you feel and believe you look better in it. The world seems better when you are wearing it. People are nicer to you. You are nicer to them. You get better treatment and exude a confidence or je ne sais quoi when you have it on.

Often we feel life is to be survived. What if all the events were there to actually help you thrive? What if everything that happened happened to bring you to this very moment. The question then becomes what will you do NOW?

The positive uses of social media technology are vast. People are able to get in touch with old friends, increase and advertise their small businesses and connect with others. Both professionally and personally, social media technology has offered endless outcomes for adults. However, students today are growing up around social media technology.
