I am probably not alone when I say that I did not know how to be a parent. I knew how to have children, but I had no clue about how to raise them. I knew what needed to be provided, how to get it, and how to provide it. I learned, however, that a good provider is not necessarily the same thing as a good parent.
Her Majesty the Queen is the heart. She works with the kingdom of the mind to stave off enemy invasions. She works diligently with mental, emotional and spiritual allies to create and generate well being and prosperity in the kingdom. Her natural state is poised, peaceful and merciful. There are, however, those times when she is forced into seclusion, into a period of waiting, in order to regain her strength, calm and composure. She never knows when these periods will be required or necessary. Instead, she remains ready, willing and able to submit herself to whatever is required to maintain her station for the good of the King she serves.
I have learned that asking “what if” in the face of what is may not be the most self-loving course of thought or action. I have personally experienced the sting, stench and pinch of every “what if” I have entertained.
Be the one who creates the shift. Be the one who forgives. Be the one who holds the space. Be the one who stands prayerfully in knowing that in every experience you are growing, healing and learning. Be the one who gives what you believe is missing. Be-Cause instead of blaming the effects. Blaming is a reaction. Cause is a response that requires the appropriate recognition of the power at your disposal.
Women and power, the patterns and pathologies that diminish its presence and distort its use must be healed. The ancestral energies that undermine a woman’s willingness, ability and capacity to claim, demonstrate and utilize her God given power to be, do and have the goodness life offers must be released. The distorted demonstrations of personal power and the misuse of divine power demonstrated by women in their relationships with each other and men must be evolved.
I no longer assume it is my responsibility to inspire or enlighten people who fight me or engage in fighting each other. I now understand that there are some things against which I can be “water-proofed.” This means I bow out gracefully, knowing that there is a Higher Mind, much more capable of working on the situation than I am.
What I know now is that how I live my life either honors or dishonors my ancestors. I also know it is not important for me to dissect, evaluate or judge their behaviors and dysfunctions. My job, our job, is to respect the continuum of life. We must embrace and embody with reverence the good/positive qualities that our ancestors demonstrated because it was this essence of their lives that pave the way for us. They have set the example for how to live in family and community.
God is Spirit. Spirit is the eternal, omnipresent (ever-present), omnipotent, (all-powerful), omniscient (all-knowing) presence of God, the Creator of all life. Spirit is the authentic identity of every living thing.
When I agreed to do the show I had a clear intention; to be a demonstration of how to have the difficult conversation required to heal a relationship breakdown. Watching Life Class last night I realized that the intention was fulfilled and, that Ms. O and I have been able to restore a sisterly, working relationship. Intentionality and clarity will support you in weathering the storms of criticism.
The wilderness is a divine experience for which preparation is impossible and failure is not an option. Self-mastery and self-knowledge are not the results of the wilderness experience. They are the invitations into it.
What we women often forget is how to play so that we win. What a woman actually knows in the core of her being, by virtue of her inner wisdom, is that she is stuff that kings and kingdoms are made of. Every king was born through a woman. Unfortunately, we have been taught, told, programmed, conditioned and duped into believing that it is more lady-like to act like we don’t know what we know and who we are from the inside out. As a result, we often devise and concoct many creative and destructive forms of self-denial that costs us physically, mentally, emotionally and spiritually as we pay the price of falling asleep at critical times in our lives. Then, we get stuck in the pain of the habitual behaviors that diminish our self-value, worth and esteem and we stop believing in ourselves and what we do know.
Just now Precious Lord, we ask that your Comforter surround Whitney’s baby girl Bobbi Christina. We ask that the angels, guardians of your court and the ancestors circle her mind and body, whispering words of peace into her soul. We ask that angels of peace blow their divine breath from the souls of her feet to the crown of her head. We ask that she have peace, a perfect peace that is beyond human understanding. We ask that you comfort Whitney’s mother, our sister Lady Cissy. We ask for your mercy to fall fresh each day on this mother.
If lasting change, productive and powerful improvement is what you truly desire, begin right where you are by writing it down and training yourself to believe it is possible. Writing it will move it beyond the filters and perceptions of your mind and make it solid.
What is not normal, natural or productive is to we stuck in the dark and forget about all of the light we have enjoyed. The light is always at the center of our being. It does not shift. It does not go out and we cannot be without the light. Our job is to remember it is there and, to get in it. I know! I know it is hard to do at times. I also know it is necessary.
Should you find yourself in the midst of something painful, it is important to recognize that very soon, it will just be a memory. If you can muster the courage and give yourself permission to just be in the pain and with the pain, you will survive.
You cannot and will not acquire wealth working at a job you do not like. Whatever you spend your life’s energy doing, you must be willing to give it your all. The more of yourself you put into your work, the greater it will reward you.
Attachment. Separation. Fear. Attachment to things and people, viewing ourselves as separate entities and fear are the fuels that drive the ego and motivates our thoughts, emotions and more often than not, our behavior. When we are attached to things and people; how we look and how we feel, our sense of meaning, value and worth is locked into the physical world reality.
Consider that love is to emotion what white is to color. White, being the full spectrum encompasses all colors. Love being the full spectrum of fulfillment, encompasses all emotions. We can be angry in love and, with those we love. We are often confused about the effects of love and the behavior of loved ones. At our best, we are afraid to love and when it is at its worst, we are afraid to lose love. Being in love takes your breath away, while being loveless makes it difficult to breathe. Love can give us strength. It also makes us weak in the knees.
Today, with so many people suffering on so many levels as a result the shifts and changes in the world, we are being forced to reconsider what is considered good for us. LifeClass has been good for so many, for so many reasons. It has opened our minds and hearts to do a new thing in a new way. It has offered the world a process and a practice anyone can use in a way that makes sense in their own life. Now that the class is in recess it is up to us to continue our work and that is what transformation, change and healing is all about.
