I breathe in self love, and calm. I remember to breathe…….This is how I am able to continue to live as vividly as I do. At 50, I am thriving in all aspects of life because I choose live a vivid life.

Life can sometimes feel out of control, as though we have no say in where we are going. But we actually do have a say, and we can affect where we are headed – we just need to take a moment to get our bearings in this busy world. In fact, I believe there is a single question you can ask yourself that can change your life forever – but before I give you the question, I have a request.

You get to choose how you experience life. Your energy flows where your attention goes. So be mindful where you choose to focus your energy. The way you pay attention to the world can make a huge difference in the way you experience it.

Sometimes while you’re home, your thoughts are still absorbed with solving the challenges at work. And when you’re at work, you find yourself worrying about problems at home. You may even go through the day without really listening to what others are saying to you. You may be hearing the words, but you’re not listening to the message. Are you going through the day rather than getting something from the day?

As you think about your purpose in life, remember that you are unique in the history of the world. There will always be only one you. You are on a great adventure—your life. Enjoy it. If roadblocks arise, see them as challenges facing a great explorer—you. Life will become an amazing adventure when you feel yourself moving toward goals that have true meaning for you—much more exciting than any movie you’ve ever seen.

When you were born into this life you probably learned that what you see in front of you is “reality.” But this is only a partial truth because reality is also determined by your attention and perception. You see, it is not what you see that creates your reality; it is the choices you make from what you see that creates your reality.

The ideal and pursuit of perfection is literally seeded into our soul… It pervades our very being. Our longing to walk among the stars is not out of reach… The wish to be eternal goes with us everywhere.

My friend Jenny owns a Subway sandwich shop in a large city. When local teenagers began to loiter near the entrance to the shop, Jenny politely asked them to leave. When they continued to show up, Jenny contemplated how to clear the walkway for patrons. Finally she set up some speakers at the doorway and played classical music at the shop’s entrance. Within minutes the teens scattered as if a stink bomb had been dropped in their midst.

Energy. It’s the force that powers all things. In ways big or small, energy is all around us every minute. It affects our weather, propels our transportation, and fuels our thoughts and feelings. Our emotions are energy in motion that naturally wants to move through us. When we suppress or repress this energy, it stops moving through us and we feel weighed down, sluggish, and just plain stuck.
