If you are sleepwalking through life one way or another you will become awakened to the reality of now. This will happen either by choice or force and based on my many years of counseling and coaching others the option of force doesn’t always feel good when it happens. Yet for some it is the only way the awakening can commence. I believe we can awaken at any moment we choose. An awakening is a spiritual act when we experience a “revival of interest or attention or the start of a feeling of awareness” according to www.dictionary.com. When you sleep walk through life or live on auto pilot you are simply going through the motions, checking off lists, clocking in and out, doing what others think you should do and living a life that may be prescribed by the expectations of society. You may even be living your life based upon traditions, family rules, past guilt and shame and a long list of other things that do not serve your soul’s purpose.
To awaken one must get back to the middle, the source, the soul, the self. You must find that sacred, special place within you that is wise, all-knowing and brilliant, it’s your genius. The first place to begin is by getting quiet and alone with you and saying yes to life. Be mindful that being awakened requires you to be vulnerable, courageous and transparent. Be mindful that if you’ve been sleepwalking to numb the pain, avoid life’s challenges and or deny your current circumstances an awakening may feel scary and uncertain. This is the time when you must be fearless and know that you only have two choices; to remain captive on auto pilot or to wake up and say yes to your life. If you’ve been sleepwalking you’ve been saying no to joy, pleasure, peace and freedom. If you’ve been saying no to life you’ve been denying your hurts, protecting your heart and or wallowing in regret. Speak life into your awakening and into your life. Say yes to awareness, feeling alive, savoring the zest of life and tasting the flavor of each moment whether bitter or sweet. Say yes to love, dreams, aspirations and simply loving who you are. Say yes to passion, purpose and the fulfillment of creating and living a life you love. Say yes to an awakening, the moment you realize that everything you need you already have and that God and the source of all needs, wants and desires are there for you when you courageously say yes! Wake up now, your life is waiting for you.
