Irvine, Calif. (PRWEB) June 24, 2009 — Greenwala, the green social network, today launched its socially conscious contest platform with three contests that allow members to show off their skills with t-shirt design, green cooking and photography.
“Our socially conscious contest platform combines a sponsor company or brand with a nonprofit partner,” said Rajeev Kapur, chief wala, Greenwala. “The nonprofit partner aligned with each contest will receive a portion of sponsorship dollars based on community participation. The more participants in the contest, the larger percentage of sponsorship the nonprofit will receive, up to a predetermined cap established for each contest.”

“We believe this creates a winning situation for the company or brand, the nonprofit organization and our community members,” Kapur said. “The company or brand generates goodwill by supporting a worthy cause, the nonprofit has the opportunity to educate members about its cause, and community members learn and have fun entering, voting and sharing contests that have a socially conscious purpose.”
“We are excited about the kind of social impact that Greenwala can create with its new platform, and believe there is tremendous upside to creating fun incentives and campaigns to support non-profit causes” said Gabriel Buttram, business partnership coordinator, Trees for the Future.
