This is the Scorpio New Moon. Scorpio is the sign that carries with it the challenge of trust. When trust is challenged there is a strong tendency to fight and do something about it. The negative side of this is about revenge and holding onto old judgments and painful memories. It can be difficult to forgive.
One must try to remember that God is within and God is without. Where is God not? This means that there is a challenge to see God within and God without. This is the nitty gritty of trust. No doubt the universe is unfolding according to a higher plan. Do you trust it? If you don’t what are you doing?
It is easy to fight and complain against apparent injustice. It is difficult to see the workings of God in life, disease and death. We are only here for a time and then we get back to God anyways. Do you trust the process? Can you trust someone else’s agenda as being as valid as your own?
In today’s world much emphasis is put on mistrust. Anyone who is not supporting you or is different must be a terrorist! Where is the peace and acceptance of the spirit in every person? Namase is an old Indian saying, I respect and worship God within you!
This New Moon in Scorpio is very intense and brings profound sensitivities to the surface. There is much confusion and deception in the ideas circulating in the media these days. Can you maintain some clarity in the midst of the storm. Can you keep your peace and integrity intact in the face of so many complaints.
I think that many of these complaints must be relegated to realms of gossip and distraction. They are not worthy of empowering. This is a time when silence is golden. Once can be open and sensitive and listen well, without adding negativity to your situation. Keep negative thoughts to yourself and try to get rid of them. If you don’t have something positive or healing to say, then keep quiet!
If we all could manage to do this a little better, the world would be a much better place.
Bless and forgive! Bless and forgive! Others and yourself as well!
Count your blessings rather than your problems.
If you have difficulty shutting off the angry feelings and thoughts, then chanting will be a excellent tool for you. Direct your energy and any frustration that surfaces into chanting. This lays your troubles at the feet of God.
It reminds me of this story. There was a old poverty stricken man in dirty smelly clothes that reeked of alcohol. He stumbled into a temple and all the way up to the alter, where he fell over and lay there with his feet on top of the idol. The priest came over and said to him, “what are you doing here? You are lying in a house of God smelly and stinking and you even put your feet on God himself. You should move your feet and get out of here. This is insulting.”
The old beggar looked up and with slurred words he replied, “Please sir, you might be able to help me. I am in a great state of disarray and do not know what to do. Please help me and I will quickly depart. Please take my feet and put them somewhere where God isn’t.”
If someone looks like they are in trouble, try to help without making judgments. There but for fortune go you or I.
Chanting, especially vigorous chanting, can take ones mind away from worldly problems. If you notice that you are worrying or doubting, take a few moments and try to chant to restore some peace. This is an excellent New Moon for fasting, especially a media fast!
