CAN YOU SEE ME
I see through eyes that ever tire
Good things have come my way
The thirst for life and happiness
My youth was yesterday
How did I age when time has stopped
And nothing really changed
Just the shell that stores my soul
The years have rearranged
The one I was, will always be
My dreams are still the same
The life I breathed so long ago
Within me still remains
Those who see me, judge me now
They cannot realize
Deep within I have survived
The years have made me wise
Time has taught me to believe
To seek my higher self
I recognize what matters most
And wherein lies my wealth
Although I suffer aches and pains
I often cannot see
Senses dulled through years of wear
My spirit sets me free
Do not pity me today
I’ve traveled many miles
My life is full of memories
Which often make me smile
As time grows near I’ll walk the path
That leads me to my home
Angels will be by my side
I’ll never be alone.

I love this poem. I feel that Sue Weaver is an amazing teacher and her poetry is her modality of her teacher.
