Life’s journey has its ups and downs. Transformation to become the person who lives with authenticity can stop you in your tracks. But can you move on unscathed? Absolutely not. In order to make the changes necessary for life transformation, you need to have a different mindset from where you were when you made the decisions in your life to get you to where you are today. Becoming the “real” you and not living under someone elses’ perception takes work and you might even lose them as a “friend”. Some people just cannot handle you own uniqueness. Staying true to you is the key and your genuine supporters will help you grow and flourish into the beautiful person that you are.
There may be times during this change that you may revert back to your old ways of thinking but that’s alright. Recognize it for what it is and change your thoughts to match what it is you really want. Don’t beat yourself up. There is only one of you in the world, and don’t you want to be the best “you” that there is? What is it that is holding you back? You will really recognize this crossroad from where you were to the real you when you notice how truly happy and grateful you are in your life.
While doing “self” work rehashes some old issues that were buried, this guides you to make the proper, necessary changes to live your life with passion and purpose. Your old way of thinking does not serve you if you wish to change things in your life, so why use that type of thinking? Learning to adapt and re-adjust your previous beliefs and habits, sets you up on the path to living the life you desire. There are a couple of things you can do today to help you during this transitioning time.
The first thing I would recommend is powerful positive affirmations. Affirmations are saying that you repeat to yourself throughout the day to help keep you on track with your positive thinking. It’s not just about saying the words you wish to have happen, you need to put emotion behind it. If that affirmation that you are saying to yourself does not seem real or believable to you, you need to word it to make it believable and true. You may do this by adding “I am in the process of….” before the affirmation. We have so many negative thoughts throughout the day that we do need a “reminder” of the positive things that are happening in our lives. It is easy to forget what they may be. Negativity is so easy to get sucked into but we now need to break that habit. Affirmations are at terrific start to help you do that.
Another great tool to use is a little detail which makes a huge difference, called Gratitude. When you are going through tough times and hard, long days, it is very difficult to see what there is to be grateful for. We quickly lose sight of what is good in our life and put all the focus on the bad. Now, I am not saying to be in denial and push away all the “stuff” that gets you down, but if we take some time during the day, or every night before bed, to write down all of the things that happened throughout the day the you are grateful for, you will soon start to see and learn to recognize the good in our lives, whether it is big or small. Even in the darkest of times there are still things to be grateful for. If you are breathing- there is something for you to be grateful for! All the little “things” add up to joy, happiness and fulfillment.
Life change and transformation takes some effort and dedication but don’t you think your life is worth it? You are definitely worth it! Life keeps changing and so do we. Learning how to adapt to these changes and to accept them is the key. Transitions happen when we notice that “life” is not the same as it used to be. You should not be the same person at 40 as you were at 20. You have had twenty years to grow and learn.
Life happens and so does this shift within yourself~whether you want it to happen or not. Are you going to fight it or go with the flow? The answer is within your heart and soul. Listen to YOU and life doesn’t have to be so hard and complicated. Having the tools and dedication will help guide you to a life you deserve!
