“Count your blessings. Once you realize how valuable you are and how much you have going for you, the smiles will return, the sun will break out, the music will play, and you will finally be able to move forward the life that God intended for you with grace, strength, courage, and confidence.”

With so many things happening around the world that are sad or destructive, it could be easy to move straight into despair. Watching Al Gore’s movie a while ago, An Inconvenient Truth, he made the very same point. He said that many people are at first in denial that anything is happening, and then when they do realize that they don’t like what’s going on, they move straight into the despair stage. But what happened to the “let’s do something about it” stage?
I find it a very good exercise these days to take a moment and be thankful for all that we have that is good. And then I take another moment and I make action plans to create more of that same good for my life. Learning to love in new ways, learning to eat better, learning to keep healthy, learning to manage my money, learning new ways to keep myself connected spiritually, learning to keep positive. That is how I count my blessings and give back to the world the best that I can.

I agree.
somethings that work for me:
1. stare into nothing
2. imagine yourself as any object/animal/bird that you see yourself in front of you and try and live that life.
3. talk to a child.
cheers!
