After reading this article, HOW TWO YEARS OF INSTAGRAM STORIES HAS ALTERED THE WAY WE LOVE, ACT AND PLAY here’s my “two cents”;
Where to start with this?
Like anything I believe it’s all about our own relationship to it.
I’m sure some people love, and get a whole lot of joy out of playing story. I mean for kids, right?
We use to dress up and play characters as children, frolicking through the woods I was Robin Hood, or a Fox, do you remember the survival game?
… so is it any different?
Isn’t it just play?
I’ve had fun with it, but at the same time deeply realize where it becomes a problem.
When I’ve stepped out and allowed it to control me. When I binge check to see who’s watching.
When you’re a public figure; Author, Artist, Actor, etc. it’s another tool to get the word out, and in my case to help people.
In some cases, many I know of, public figures are encouraged to post as frequently as possible to keep engagement high.
And it all becomes a lot like the old story of The Hare & The Tortoise, something I refer to quite often when referring to the life lead by competition and accolades, versus intent, connection and presence.
Our own self inquiry is the key to our deeper understanding of why?
That is if we stop (or put the phone down) long enough to listen.
So give it a try. Stop. Listen. Inquire.
Is your relationship with Stories or any social media really, bringing joy and fulfillment or is it leaving you on empty?
