Oprah Winfrey is joined by Brother David Steindl-Rast, Benedictine monk, author and scholar, to talk about the true source of lasting joy. As studying gratitude is his life’s work, Brother Steindl-Rast shares with Oprah the essence of grateful living. He invites viewers to exercise gratefulness as a spiritual practice and a source of well-being that can be embraced every day.
Following the episode, Covenant House Los Angeles, a non-profit youth homeless shelter, gets a makeover with the help of designer Jeremiah Brent. At age 19, after a difficult upbringing, Alex Molina found herself at the shelter’s Los Angeles facility. The following year, Molina appeared on “The Oprah Winfrey Show” winning a full college scholarship. Thirteen years later, Molina returned to Covenant House to work as a case manager and asked Oprah Winfrey to help the facility with a major remodel.
