For a while now I’ve been on this intense search to find something. That’s exactly what I would call it- SOMETHING. To me, there has to be SOMETHING that would explain everything- something that would connect all the little pieces together. I have such a curious nature that I just kept digging and digging on the outside until finally I was led back to myself and my inside.
In the process, I’ve become extremely independent. You have to be. In a world where most people need numbers and facts to even slightly consider something outside of their own box, you have to develop the tenacity to stick to your unique being. I’ve never been fond of sticking to one group of people, thought, or practice. My path has always been mine and my vision my own. I hold the same intention for others. As I grow, everything that doesn’t align with me falls away. The harder I hold on to those things, the more chaos it brings me.
Self reliance is incredibly powerful, but I learned recently that it has it’s limitations. I’ve always been so used to trying to be superwoman that I eventually forgot how to ask for help when I need it. A balanced heart is not something that is always giving. It also receives. However, in order to receive you have to be open enough to do so- you have to ask.
I’m also a big believer in conscious prayer – especially prayer that is sincere and done with belief. It is intention. I feel strongly that we are always praying. We literally pray our lives into being through our thoughts. When we consciously decide to pray for something or someone specific, we are consciously creating an intention – a seed for a specific result. It really does work. The trick is to know how, what, and in what state.
The difficulty I face is not so much praying consciously, but more so in the receiving. I forgot until recently that Source works through people. So, asking someone for help is really a prayer in itself. Receiving is an even bigger prayer – it’s acknowledgment that the world is abundant. It takes us away from the usual fearful thinking (prayer) of scarcity- the feeling that there isn’t enough to go around. There’s more than plenty to go around.
Lesson learned. Source works through people. In order to truly love and trust your source, you must love and trust the people He works through. So, be aware. The random person you run into, your parents, your cousins, your friends, the mailman, your biggest enemy or even the stranger crossing the street MIGHT just be the answer to your prayers.
