Imagine awakening to a familiar voice emanating from the Beyond. Would you think you were going a bit bonkers? That was the experience of chiropractor-singer songwriter-yogini Annie Kagan whose beloved brother Billy who had been a source of both love and worry throughout their lives, was calling on the cosmic telephone line. He was addicted to heroin and would disappear for months at a time; going from a lofty lifestyle to being homeless. His final breath was taken after being hit by a car fleeing from a shelter while under the influence. What happened after that is nothing short of miraculous. The messages continued and intensified. They were personal and deeply meaningful as they reassured Annie that Billy was well and that there was a purpose to the trials he experienced while in body. Some of the information was so out of the box about people in her life that he didn’t know which affirmed to her that he was speaking the truth.
As a result, she came to understand that “Death wasn’t as serious as I thought it was and he was being tended to by Higher Beings.” He spoke to her in ‘real time’ as events were unfolding, not simply going back into memory about a past experience. As a result they were ‘co-authors’ of the fascinating peek through the veil book The Afterlife of Billy Fingers: How My Bad Boy Brother Proved To Me That There Is Life After Death which leads the reader on a journey along with Annie.
Willing suspension of disbelief may have been necessary for her in the beginning but shortly, she came to wholeheartedly accept what was happening. I wondered what impact the book had on readers who may have been equally skeptical.
“Billy being an addict, gives the book street cred,” according to Annie. As the story unfolded, Billy observed that she was a “Cosmic detective exploring the greatest mystery of all.” She says that it was “written as a thriller where you don’t know what’s going to happen next.” He had grand advice to offer his sister and the readers: “Instead of seeing yourself as a victim, you could see yourself as a warrior.”
