VividLife Radio’s Ed and Deb Shapiro welcome New York Times bestselling author and Filmmaker James Twyman to discuss Meditation, Forgiveness and his newest film Redwood Highway
James Twyman is the New York Times bestselling author of 15 books (Emissary of Light and The Moses Code), as well as the producer/director/writer of five films including the award-winning feature film Indigo. His newest film, Redwood Highway, will debut on Grandparents Day. Some years ago his wife Linda was murdered and although the two men who did it were never arrested, James was able to turn it around to feel compassion towards them. “I began to feel a sense of compassion for what it must have taken for these two men to commit such a violent act. What must they have gone through in order to do it? What sorts of traumas did they have to endure to be so injured, to be so sick, that they could do something like they did?” He currently travels around the world promoting films for what he believes to be the most important, and under-served film audience in history – elders. http://www.jamestwyman.com/
As the great Zen master Alan Watts said: “We all need to go out of our minds at least once a day!” Going Out Of Your Mind with Ed and Deb Shapiro is a chance for you to drop your analyzing and intellectual mind and come into the immediate experience of present awakening. We are irreverent spiritual teachers and don’t take ourselves too seriously so our discussion show has a great sense of humor while also exploring in depth what it means to live with integrity, awareness, kindness, compassion, and humility.
We will be talking with some of the most luminous women and men about how their lives reflect that luminosity, how they relate to the trials and tribulations of ordinary life, and how this can be of benefit to you. They are people from all walks of life: scientists, actors, activists, musicians, comedians, and business leaders – people whose lives you would never have guessed were rooted in meditation and freedom.
