We all have what I like to call a “stuck point” when it comes to how much progress we let ourselves make toward a goal and how much we put ourselves out there.
We let ourselves get to a certain point and then we either stop what we are doing or begin to self sabotage- sound familiar?
Don’t worry, we all do it.
We put off doing the things we know we should do because of fear of the unknown, what other people think or just plain “Idontdeserveitness”
Doing well and being successful brings up a lot of personal issues and fears like:
People will laugh at me
I don’t know enough
I don’t really deserve it
What if people think I’m stupid
Who am I to be featured in the press?
I’ll look silly.
People will think of me differently
My family wont like it
Which resonated with you?
Depending on your life experiences, you’ll have different reasons that are coming up for you and that’s because They are your minds way of trying to keep you safe.
If you were laughed at when you were very young you your mind will now be trying to protecting you from being in that situation again. But you are an adult now, and can choose to change these beliefs that are holding you back.
The key to going further than you have let yourself go before is to first understand where your stuck point is.
What are you putting off that you know will make the biggest difference for you? Take a few moments and think about where you are holding yourself back.
It’s usually the thing you keep saying you’ll do and then somehow don’t get round to or the things we know are good for us but don’t stick with
Once you have gotten clear on where your stuck point is the next important step is to decide to go past it
Affirm to yourself “I am ready to go past my stuck point”
To break through your limitations first know what it is, then consciously make the decision to go further this time and then…do the thing you are putting off!
Chances are some of the resistance will be to do with worrying what other people will think (I know this one very well!) as I say to my clients:
You can worry about what people will think or you can get things done. You can’t do both.
Let’s consciously decide to go further than we have let ourselves go before and take BIG ACTION on it.
What are you taking action on this week?

My stuck point is focusing and working on content that represents myself .. be it my marketing portfolio, or content for my website for Water Alchemy (my spiritual development modalities) and at times dare I say it – my CV! I find it difficult to simply produce content that showcases me and my work. I think the stuck point is lack of expression and possibly fear of it which turns into ‘in action’ and ‘distraction’.
The question that haunts me is i know that “I am holding myself back!” but when i have created this PERSON that i can no longer “HOLD UP TOO!” i know thats its as simple as JUST MAKING THE CHANGE!…what happens to the PACKAGES? (lack of a better word)i know that this is not ALL my life has to offer an i am ready to EMBRACE what was planned for me!…i struggle with this with everyday!…i have to do something different i dont want to continue make FAMILY AND FRIENDS suffer because of choices i have made!
The thing that continues to HAUNT me IS WHAT,were, how do start to change this person that i have CREATED?…knowing now that I can no longer nor want to LIVE UPTO THOSE STANDARDS?…i know that there is another path for me and i am ready to EMBRACE it head on!…BUT what happens to the PACKAGES (for lack of a better word) how do you just walk away from THAT PERSON?….AND NOT FEEL GUILTY!
You are so right on the topic of the “stuck point”. Often people are their own worst enemies.
Fear of the perceptions of others has always been a big stuck point for me personally and it is one that I am constantly battling in trying to take drastic steps to improve myself.
