I am a firm believer in the fact that we, as human beings are extremely effected by our moon
cycles just like our earth is. Before we had artificial light, farmers followed moon cycles for their
crops and back in the ancient times women followed the moon cycles for fertility. We still watch
the moon cycles to predict the roughness of our seas and oceans.
We have all heard doctors and nurse’s say “Oh know it is a full moon, ER will be busy tonight”
It has been proven that more accidents and injuries happen during full moons. I believe the
reason why is that we are so distracted by our egos and ‘in our heads” that we do not pay
attention and we become careless with our actions.
For my years of studying ego and intuition, I have found that our egos become extremely
irritated during full moon cycles, which is different during the new moon cycles as our egos are
less active or reactive. I have also found that because our egos are irritated during full moon
cycles that we do not sleep as well during full moons as we do during new moons. During full
moons, I have found that hitting REM sleep state is not as effortless as during now moon cycles
because generally in full moon cycles our egoselves like to chatter a lot more at night and go
over all the things you have not done or the things you have to do!!
If you feel like your sleep patterns are off and your ego is quite active at bed time, journaling is
the best relief for that. Have a piece of paper beside your bed and write down any thoughts that
may come to you. You might think that the thoughts are silly (that’s ego again), but just write
down whatever comes out and then crumble it up and recycle it.
I get asked all the time: How do you stay centered in ego and higherself so effortlessly? I am
going to let you all in on one of my secrets.
Every night before I go to bed, I look in the mirror and say to myself 3 times “I have compassion
for you” and then I breathe.
I do this to let go of any ego thoughts that might make me feel like I wasn’t good enough or I
didn’t do enough during that day.
It is much easier to have compassion for others. When it comes to ourselves we tend to be much
harder on what we expect from ourselves and we can make ourselves feel bad about not being or
doing the things we set out to do, be it for ourselves or others. So I say that affirmation to be kind
to myself and balance my ego.
Do onto yourself as you do onto others. This saying is typically the other way around; however,
it is a good tool to see who you really are in this world and either way you will make a change
for the better.
