As I watched the absolutely inspirational film “Julie and Julia”, I too am reminded to Never Give Up. That as human beings we face a lot of adversity in our lives from all around us, our family, friends, co-workers. religions, partners and yes even complete strangers. We become weak through the opinions and beliefs of others and in the end many of us become so consumed with what’s going on around us that we really forget who we are, what we enjoy and ultimately lose our authentic connection to self and spend our lives in other people’s business. But ask yourself this: If you are always in other people’s business via their beliefs, perceptions, and opinions, then how are you ever in yours? I know it seems so hard to block out the world and you may be afraid of isolating yourself or becoming disconnected but the truth is the more you stay in your business the closer you become to Reclaiming Your True Path. But the key is to never give up, to do your best and to realize…
So often times it happens that we live our lives in chains and we never even know we have the key…
Below are 3 Steps to Reclaiming Your True Path:
- Gratitude: to be thankful for everything you have, every experience, every blessing, every person, place and thing in your life. For to live in Gratitude is our greatest teacher because when you come from a place of Gratitude you’re always in the “Now” reality and this reality is the only true place. Start by writing in a journal 5 things you are grateful for and then review them throughout the day. I’m sure as the days go by you will find plenty more.
- Balance: It is so importance to have balance in our lives no matter how much we love our career, hobby or whatever it is you spend the most time doing. We need a balance of proper nutrition, proper exercise and most importantly time alone for you. My suggestions: always eat a balanced breakfast (oatmeal, berries, white tea, apple), 2 other balanced meals and make sure you are eating small amounts every 2-3 hours (snacks: apples, apricots, 70% plus dark chocolate, blue berries, nuts etc.); Yoga, either practice at home or join a class that you truly feel comfortable in; Meditation, take at least 10-15 minutes a day to either go for a peaceful walk, or shut off the lights at home or the office and take some quiet time to focus on your breath. I sometimes like to repeat this to myself ….Breathing In I Calm My Body, Breathing Out I Smile. It relaxes my body and brings me back to a place of joy!
- Focus: Always focus on what is truly authentic to you. This will be easier for you to connect with through creating balance in your life through the suggestions above. Also we were all born with something called Intuition, which is always screaming out to you exactly what you want. Sometimes we just choose to ignore it. Do not be sidetracked by the shining lights, bumps in the roads or the beliefs and opinions of others! Be 100% true to yourself and keep focus on building your true authentic dream!

This is a great post, Shayne. I really like what you had to say about balance. I’ve strangely been relaxing into a positive food routine that is comprised of exactly what you’re describing (oatmeal, apples, 70% dark chocolate, nuts, etc) and embracing the benefits of integrating yoa into my life. I’m slowly starting to try and open myself to gratitude and am shocked at what an immediately positive effect it can have. I haven’t quite reached focus with much certainty yet, but am starting to feel it developing as I move in more positive directions.
