Recently, I read a quote at my Chiropractor’s office that said, “The Power that made the body, heals the body.” This is truth! There is a Power within us. It is undeniable. Look around you at the vastness of this planet and of the Universe. This same Power created the Universe. This Power created the heavens and the earth. This Power created you and I. Some call It God, others call it Source Energy, some even call it Innate Intelligence. Whatever It is to you, It is power and It resides within you and you reside within It. You are an extension of this Innate Intelligence.
Recently, I had an injury that herniated two lumbar discs. As many know, our spine is made up of bone, cushion, fluid, and nerves. The cushion part of the spinal column rests in between each vertebrae (bone) and acts as that cushion within the spine. This allows movement and prevents bone rubbing against bone. On the outside of this cushion, there is an outer lining that holds the fluid–within this cushion–in place. As a result of this injury, the outer lining of two of these cushions tore and the cushion then began to bulge out from between the bones. This herniation (as it is called) pressed against some spinal nerves which resulted in severe back pain and also, numbness and pain going down both legs. Those who have had a herniated disc know exactly how painful it is.
As I was laying on the traction table, I began to think of that quote, “The Power that made the body, heals the body.” I began to wonder, if this is true (and many know it is truth), then perhaps I am missing something. Maybe I need to approach my healing from a different perspective. I already decided to go the alternative route with my treatment but to be honest, I have started to question why the healing seems to be occurring at a snail’s pace. Then I began to wonder, “Perhaps my healing is occurring slower than what I want because I am not acknowledging that this power that made me, can heal me.” Perhaps I am in doubt because I am more focused on the injury rather than the healing. You know as well as I do how easy it is to begin to doubt yourself when you have an illness or injury. Especially when the healing just doesn’t occur exactly as fast as you would want it to. I began to doubt that I will heal. Of course, doubt brings frustration which brings fear. I began to fear that I would never have a normal back again.
As I laid there on that table, I began to meditate on that quote. I began to say, “The Power that made my body, heals my body” over and over in my mind. Then, something came over me and I began to cry because I realized, I am an extension of that Power. I realized that I have been searching out for something to occur in my body rather than going within to seek that which I want. And what I want is healing! So, at that very moment, laying on that table in traction, I began to go within. Neale Donald Walsch, Author, said, “If you don’t go within, you will go without.” This is what I have not been doing. I have failed to go within. I have been so busy with writing and now promoting my new book, that I neglected the most important part of me . . . me! I stopped communing with this Innate Intelligence that is within me. I failed to commune with God. I began to lose that connection. As a result, things began to go wrong in my life.
But just as you would expect with enlightenment, things are shifting in my life once again. I am not fighting against this injury. I am flowing with it. I am flowing with this present moment. So now, as a result of this injury, I have learned! Now that I have learned, I can now teach so you can learn. And when you learn, you can transform your life and heal the world. What you give out will come back unto you my friends. If you are in need of healing, I would strongly suggest that you place the quote, “The Power that made the body, heals the body” everywhere so you can continually remind yourself that this Power is within you to heal you. Remind yourself daily that the Power that created you is that very same Power that will heal you. Let this be your new mantra in life.
Just so you know, my back is healing because the Power that made me . . . heals me!
Journey on fellow travelers! Journey on!
