Shayne Traviss, Founder of VividLife.me, has been nominated to win the LGBTQ Person of the Year Award from the popular Inspire Awards. The LGBTQ Person of the Year is an inspiring person who has significantly improved the quality of life of the LGBTQ and local community. This award recognizes an individual’s achievement in furthering the causes important to the LGBTQ community, especially in eliminating discrimination and homophobia and advancing civil rights for the LGBTQ community in our region. We recommend his abilities to inspire change through his volunteerism to the community as a whole.”
Once nominated, further praise began to poor in for Shayne in the form of letters from several people who were in overwhelming support of this award. One such person was Sharon Quirt, Best Selling Author of “The Keys” Open the Door to True Self Empowerment and Infinite Possibly, Motivational Speaker and Spiritual Counselor. Sharon writes, “Shayne daily reaches out in some way to help someone with no expectation of taking, or receiving. He goes above and beyond to help others find the truth they are looking for and to always be up front and honest with his guidance.”
Tina L. Dezsi, CEO T&E HealthPros Inc. and Founder of POWE Inc. had this to say about Shayne’s nomination: “Through his work with vividlife.me, vividlife radio and his writing he offers a place where people can go to find real information in a community filled with others that are of the same mind. Shayne brings them together with ease because this is his calling. He has found what he is here to do and his light shines bright for all of us. He is a true beacon in the storm and those of us blessed to have a personal relationship with Shayne can always trust that he is there to help.”
Nelson Tome, former Director of Communication for OUT TV Network “Shayne provided one of the most unique perspectives in the LGBT dialogue on the network platform. His contributions were less about what unified us all as queer people, but more about our universal unity with the rest of the world.”, “It was no surprise his popularity and impact grew to be one of the most interesting wellness platforms to come out of Canada in recent years.” , “For his ability to remind all queer people of our worth and value, and for taking an active stand on inspiring all his readers, gay or straight, to live their best, I am very pleased to recommend Shayne Traviss to receive an Inspire Award!”
Shayne’s journey hasn’t always been an easy road, wrought with everything from childhood molestation, bullying, physical and mental abuse to several suicide attempts, sex, drugs and alcohol abuse. Shayne transcended his past to rise above it and use his experiences to help others. He started VividLife.me, an online resource partnered with the world’s top teachers in self-help and spiritual liberation. VividLife.me began with eight contributors, one radio show and an audience of about one thousand people. Eighteen months later VividLife.me has over one hundred and eighty contributors, eight radio shows and an audience of over two hundred thousand and growing.
Combine this with the many volunteer and philanthropic deeds that Shayne has done and there is no wonder that many of his friends and family are rooting for him to win this award. The announcement is to be made on 16 June, 2011 at the awards Gala in Toronto. For more information, please visithttp://inspireawards.ca/
