Nobody wants to be weak. Weakness isn’t a flattering word used to describe anything or anyone. When you have anything associated with weakness, it is frowned on and shied away from. The word suggests the opposite of strong.
I have spent a lot of years wondering why parents didn’t want to admit that their kids suffer from allergies. More than anything I used to come into contact with people that would find out about my family’s allergies and the first thing they would feel compelled to tell me is that their kids don’t have allergies. At first it stung, and then gradually I began to feel for those kids and their parents. Not wanting to look at our own children’s possible “weakness” makes us human. It shows that we truly want to believe that everything is perfect in our world. I understand that, and it took me a long time to solidify a platform in which I believe that I can get parents to take another look at their children’s symptoms and behaviors and not have it associated with weakness.
Food isn’t the same as it used to me. Most of the food we find in big supermarkets is genetically modified, designed in a lab and is not even food. Most of our food is doused in chemicals like roundup.
There is no regulation on household or personal care products and the average person comes into contact with over 100 toxic chemicals before they leave the house in the morning.
The medical system is so backed up the doctors don’t have the time or the support to actually diagnose and prescribe the proper treatment for things that children are suffering from. Take for instance asthma. Why do so many kids have trouble breathing? Steroids can only cut the mustard for so long. Why is it happening in record numbers?
Our children’s toys, baby bottles and most infant formula contain endocrine disrupting chemicals like bpa’s that have been labelled toxic by the Canadian Government.
I could go on and on but I would like to spare the really depressing research and leave you with something positive to go on. If your child has allergies he or she is normal. Nothing weak associated with it, just purely normal. I think we are taking disruptive symptoms like eczema, asthma, constant pneumonia, bed wetting, anger fits, crying outbursts, failure to gain weight, constant ear infections, mucousy breathing, dark circles under the eyes, seizures, and passing them off as normal. I can tell you this for certain. Any research into the past will not generate the same types of symptoms that our children are experiencing today. We used to be healthier without the toxins plain and simple. The really wonderful thing about it is this.
Our kids are getting sick not because they are weak, but because they are not meant to stand up to the amount of environmental toxins that they are subjected to today. If we want the next generation to thrive, to really feel good then we must become accountable for what we feed and subject our children too. Our kids are perfect and they can do greater things with our help. Next time you think of weakness, know it is not that your child is allergic to something that manifests weakness. They are not weak, and the opposite of weakness is to acknowledge and do all that you can to make them feel better.
