Many people are searching for that quick fix, magic pill or solution to losing extra weight for good. People go through numerous YoYo diets to lose the weight at first but slowly gain it back with a little extra. It’s time to learn why this doesn’t work and what your body is actually telling you. So what is it? Metabolic individuality was first studied by Weston Price in the 1930’s his study was to uncover the link between modern eating habits and the incidence of chronic degenerative illness. Several years later William Kelly, George Watson and Roger Williams through their research trying to understand genetically based nutrition started to see “One Man’s food is another Man’s poison”. As a result of their research they came up with a system called Metabolic Typing. Then in the 1980’s Bill Wolcott found a link between two systems in the body that regulate metabolism which started the understanding of everyone’s unique nutritional requirements of what proteins, carbohydrates and fats your body needs and it what ratio.
Now I’m sure you’re thinking “ok that’s all good information, but how does this history lesson relate to me and my health and weight loss?” “Can’t I just find out about how to lose weight and be healthy from commercials, magazines, my doctor and the wealth of information I find on the internet.” NO!!! there is so much miss leading information out there, that it’s like searching for a needled in a hay stack with your eyes closed.
I’m going to give you this analogy which will help explain why it’s essential for each person to understand their unique Metabolic Type. Think of a car. We all understand that a car needs gas to run, oil for the engine and coolant to keep the car from overheating. If you don’t put the right mixture of gas, oil and coolant in your car, it will start to have mechanical issues like over heating, engine not function properly, car acting up and just overall causing the car to break down.
We’re just the same as the car in this example. We need protein, carbohydrates and fats in the right ratio depending on our unique metabolism, genetics, heritage, and lifestyle factors to be healthy. If we don’t we start to break down, colds, flues, aches, pains and over time degenerative diseases. The only too prevent this is to make sure you understand your unique metabolism by sitting down with a Certified Metabolic Typing Advisor who can assess you properly and take you through thorough fine tuning. This way your body is getting the right macro/micro nutrients that it needs to function and repair.
If you want your body to run like a garbage truck then keep eating like that garbage truck. If you want your body to run like a Ferrari, than you need to eat the right certified organic proteins, carbohydrates and fats in the right ratio for you unique metabolic type.
