If you are a procrastinator—or if you think you might have a more or less severe issue with procrastination—here’s a great video that will provide you with an elegant and creative solution to your self-defeating habit of putting things off.
This film was recently recorded at the Albert Ellis Institute, New York, USA, within the framework of their weekly Friday Night Live workshops.
You will meet with Jay—a freelance writer—who has developped all sorts of self-defeating strategies in order to avoid the daily discomfort of sitting down and getting his book proposal written… in order words, to procrastinate and not get the work done.
You will also meet with Ray DiGiuseppe, Ph.D—a highly acclaimed therapist and the director of Professional Education at the Albert Ellis Institute—who will help Jay uncover the anxiety-creating beliefs that regularly lead him to put his writing off, on the one hand, and to find an elegant and creative solution to his procrastinating behavior, on the other hand.
Please note that this is not a role play, but a real public session that took place less than a month ago at the Albert Ellis Institute, between an audience volunteer and a seasoned therapist. Similarly, the teachings at the core of this video come within the principles of Rational Emotive Behavior Therapy (REBT)—that is, the same principles I personally live by and that I delight to teach others by means of my blog, my products, my teleseminars, etc.
If you have an issue with procrastination—or if you believe you might possibly have one—you will most likely find this video to be a true gem for you! Enjoy the presentation!
