The MIND: The mind is host to your thoughts. It is also what holds on to past experiences and perceptions, and results in habitual patterns. The mind is often a slave to its learned defense mechanisms, and directs people to react against anything perceived as a “threat”. In actuality, those things only exist in the subconscious or unconscious mind. It is also the mind that thinks the thoughts that create emotions. Worry, guilt, shame, and fear are all functions of the mind. It is the mind that automatically decides how to react and where to focus. However, the good news is that everyone can master their mind and take over its control. Everyone can choose their thoughts and thus choose to be happy and enjoy their emotions. People can be aware of their impending reactions prior to committing to them, and can re-frame their perspective at any time. All it takes is desire, determination, and the awareness that this is possible. A healthy mind leads to a healthy body and happier life.
The BODY: The human body is a wonderful gift that keeps giving. It has 600 muscles; 206 perfectly sized and shaped bones; and separate organs and systems that all work together to ensure your survival. Each has its own unique appearance; is home to your mind, heart, and spirit; and comes with built-in protection, checks and balances. It can lift, pull, push, grab, throw, jump, run, skip, dance, duck, see, hear, feel, smell, taste, think, emote, communicate, and thrive. When it is injured and/or facing obstacles, it can repair and, with the right focus, can even become better than before. When it gets older, there are ways to keep it functionally young, strong, and flexible. When it is recognized as art, it can be shaped, positioned and sculpted — at any stage in life. And when it comes to overall health and wellness, the body responds to your care and nutritional input. Love your body. It’s yours for life. Live BodyPROUD.
The HEART: The heart, as per the BodyPROUD essence wheel, is about experiencing love: Love of Self, love of others and from others, love of nature, and love of life. It’s about feeling and sharing emotions, discovering and fuelling passion(s), and loving from within. Humanity evolves when we all live as love and love the life we live. When the heart is happy and open, the spirit, mind, body, and health also benefit.
The SPIRIT: The spirit, in this context, is one with the soul. It is that which animates the body and acts as its life force. It is connected to those deep “knowing” type feelings, intuitions, and coincidences that are too “perfect” to just be “co” (which BodyPROUD refers to as “cool-incidences”). Through the spirit, the mind can transcend to new levels of consciousness, the heart can open fully, and the body can improve its own wellness
5 Tips for YOUR PERSONAL BodyPROUD Journey:
- Visualize. Feel. Experience.
See yourself happy, healthy, confident, blissful, full of love, and living in a body that you take pride in.
- Know. Believe.
Recognize that everything is possible. After all, you just saw and felt it. That means it exists. Now it’s just a matter of creation.
- Embrace Your Power. Commit. Challenge Yourself.
Set the intention to evolve yourself and to make regular choices based on your commitment, even if they are not within your comfort zone.
- Pay attention. Pause. Become aware.
Prior to eating and prior to responding or reacting to situations, pause. Focus on your thoughts and feelings. Recognize that they are automatic: They do not control you. In fact, you control them.
- Choose wisely.
Thoughts lead to emotion. Emotion then leads to action. So select your thoughts according to what you wish to accomplish. For example, to feel happy, choose to always uncover the positive perspective and/or learning lesson; to nourish your organs. choose foods that bring nutrients with them.
- BODY: Nutrition
Eat small meals every 2-3 hours with the most complex carb heavy meals prior to dinner
- MIND: Meditation
Take time out regularly to sit quietly and enter into the neutral zone within your mind. Halt any thoughts that you notice coming through. Watch them pass by. Then experience the stillness.
- HEART: Love
Close your eyes and “feel” the feeling of love from your heart area. Enjoy it and experience it fully. Choose to feel that feeling often and share it with others.
- SPIRIT: Intuition
Teach yourself to detect and interpret your intuition in all situations. Let your soul guide you rather than your ego mind.
In Summary: We are ALL BodyPROUD. The only difference is that some of us have the awareness and desire, while others have not yet been inspired. So let’s all step out of our self-imposed boundaries. Let’s cherish our body (inside and out), respect it as the world’s ultimate machine, and recognize we are its keeper for life.
