listen to Connections Radio with Cynthia James and Jordan Paul as they chat with World Service Authority founder Garry Davis on going from a trained killer to living in oneness and eliminating war…
Dropping bombs that slaughtered innocent people awakened Garry Davis to the realization that he had been trained to be a killer, that the world operated from a place of “us against them,” and that nation states were war machines. Renouncing his American citizenship in 1948, Garry became a “citizen of the world.” He makes the case that, “Survival, the abiding mission that we all face, makes all the divisions that we think we are, such as nationality, colors, religious, and gender, obsolete.”
Among his many endeavors to bring about a practical way for living in oneness and eliminating war, Garry Davis formed the World Service Authority in 1954 that now issues World Citizen Passports and World Citizen Birth Certificates. Over 150 countries have accepted the world passport at one time or another. Garry’s life is the subject of a full-length documentary film in development by One Films, “Just One! The Garry Davis Story.” A five minute short about the film won “Best Global Documentary” at the New York International Film Fest and First Place at the World Peace Film Festival. www.worldservice.org

Join hosts Cynthia James and Jordan Paul as they chat with Mindfulness Guru’s Ed & Deb Shaipro on simple meditation, loving kindness and simply letting yourself be still…
Their approach to meditation is very simple. Techniques such as watching your breath or developing loving kindness are helpful but the important part of meditating is letting yourself be still, being with yourself in that stillness and thereby letting go. Ed says, “M editation is the greatest gift you cangive yourself and it’s easily available to everyone. I t’s all about showing us the nature of the mind by becoming mindful. We become friends with our minds when we understand that the mind is a perfect servant but not a very good master. We also realize that in between our thoughts there is a gap, a place where we become very peaceful.”
Ed and Deb Shapiro are the authors of sixteen books on personal development, meditation and social action and they have led meditation retreats
and personal development programs worldwide for over 25 years. Together theyhave been deeply inspired by HH The Dalai Lama, who has written a personalforeword for their latest best seller, winner of the 2010 Gold Nautilus Book Award,Be The Change: How meditation can transform you and the world. www.EdandDebShapiro.com
