2011 The Year of Peace

When it comes to Inspiration, Peace Day is defiantly something worth sharing. Global Peace Day and Ceasefire is every year on September 21st, it is a day that saves lives as well as allows food and medicine to get to places that normally are unreachable do to war and fighting. (Even the Taliban lay down their weapons on Peace Day.) As we enter into this new year, what if we were to shift our focus onto the Peace that we have each day in our lives?
Every day approximately 6,800,000,000 people never kill anyone! However that is not who we focus on… it is the 68,400,000 that may have. With the overwhelming majority of people consciously choosing to live in Peace why then is it so hard to understand that we DO have Peace on Earth… right now.
Even in War zones people are helping each other, neighbors are sharing, people continue to do good. For the last several years I have been actively involved in promoting and sharing the awareness of Peace Day; because I believe it is something that more people need to be talking about. As co-creator of an organization called Peace In OUR Lifetime, I have been a part of the conversation about peace with people all over the planet. Even though the other co-creator, Lynne Hazelden and I have never met in person {she lives in the UK}, we have been very successful in bringing together all sorts of organizations to stand together as One Voice for Peace.

I Believe in YOU

I know from personal experience that even all this can be overcome. The problem is, (even though it seems so simple from the outside looking in) sometimes the fear of the unknown can be stronger than the fear of what is familiar. When a person has allowed themselves to remain in a situation, they feel as though they have given away every ounce of power they have… this is an illusion. The shift from Victim to FREEdom doesn’t have to be a life long journey… it starts first in the mind, by changing the negative thought pattern that has been developed… since those thoughts have created a grove in the mind, it can take awhile to create a new pattern of thought.

What you are now choosing to believe and think and say will create the next moment and the next day and the next month and the next year.”
I know that everything can be ok… but You need to take action and first choose to BE that which you are seeking. No one can make that choice but you, and that can be hell on those of us on the outside. I will keep believing in YOU, that you will overcome; my faith in YOU will act as a lighthouse that will help YOU to find your own path… BE strong and bright my friend and do not fall into the trap of becoming a search light, because you will drive yourself crazy. Become the LIGHTHOUSE of your own design!
When caterpillars create their cocoon, it is a process that they have to go through. When it is time for them to emerge, if an onlooker interferes in any way, the butterfly will not develop the strength needed to fly. So other than letting you know that I am here to support you, I cannot interfere regardless of how painful it is to witness. Unless you ask for help, others around you need to stay firmly planted in the belief that YOU need to make the choice to save yourself and climb out of the cocoon that you are a part of. Until you do make that choice on your own, you will keep crawling back in.

In the world of social media you have choices like Linked In, Twitter and Facebook, even though it may seem overwhelming, if you are a small business owner it is more important than ever to create your business presence. Even if you have a website, creating a business fan page will help current and potential customers find your business online easier. Even though social media is free to join, its potential value to your business and your customers is priceless.
- Linked In is much like a black tie, professional society. Linked in has over 75 million members.
- Twitter is the Bar of the internet, where people share things in 140 characters. It is very casual and focuses on sharing and highlighting what others are talking about. Twitter has over 170 Million members.
- Facebook is the community club of the internet. It is where you can find out what is happening, who is doing what and who is new to town. There are places to interact with others or do things on your own. Facebook has a place for everyone, regardless of what your preferences are. Facebook has over 500 million members.
Once you have decided which network your business is more like, and you have created a personal profile page, you can very easily build a business fan page that links to your main account. Each network has step by step instructions on how to easily set one up. A Fan page is a wonderful way to spotlight all of the great things that your business offers. It should take about 15 minutes to set up and once you have, you can maintain it in 4 minutes a week. These networks were designed for people who have little computer experience, so they are really simple to set up. The very best part of it… is that it is free.
Social networking is a wonderful supplement to the marketing that you are already doing because it offers potential clients / customers another way to find out what your business has to offer as well as being a great way to interact and share information of Value with them. ***Don’t forget to add “find us on facebook” to the adds that you are currently running.
The same rules apply online as they do offline, take a little time to learn what your customers needs are before you tell them what they want. Be interested instead of trying to be interesting! That will make all of the difference in not only your online success but also your overall success in life.
