The Strange Reason Why Creating a Road Map and Setting Goals will help you Succeed

Settings goals represents one of the key components to find success in your life! This is what guides you and tells you that you are on the right track. But before you write your goals down, you need to know where you want to go!
You need to determine your end result to find success. That means you need to know what you want to achieve before you even start doing it. You need to be clear about what you want to achieve. Basically, you need to establish your destination before you can set out on the road.
When you plan a route on a map you always have a starting point and a destination. It works the same way in your life: Your destination should be the goal that you want to accomplish in life! Allow me to explain.
When you create your destination, you need to start by saying something like this: “I want to be a successful real estate investor in single family homes in my city” or “I want to be an Iron Man competitor and teach people how to train to compete as well” or “I want to the best student in my martial art school and obtain my black belt faster than anybody else”. Basically, you need to envision exactly what you hope to become at the end of the road. In order to properly know whether or not you are getting closer to your dreams, you need to have a clear idea of exactly what your dreams are!
Before I continue, let me clarify something. Saying something like: “I want a million dollars in my bank account” means nothing. You are wasting your time and the odds are you won’t become a millionaire! You absolutely need to be clear on what you want to achieve. The clearer you are the better. And by doing so, it’ll help you set your goals! Write down your destination in as much detail as possible so you can set the appropriate goals in order to attain that destination.
So let’s take an example of “a road map” or “destination” from before to show you how to set some goals. “I want to be a successful real estate investor in single family homes in my city”. Like I said, by being very clear with your destination it’ll really help you set your goals.
Here are some example of different goals you may have to accomplish on a road map towards becoming a successful real estate investor: research a home (neighborhood, types of homes), find the home, make an offer, close the deal, find a mortgage, fill-out the papers at the lawyer’s office, take possession of the home, find a tenant, get the first and last month rent from the tenant, manage the property and do it all over again.
That was just a small example of the different goals that you may need to accomplish. Keep in mind that goals are there to guide you to your destination so they may constantly be changing. And that is ok. Actually your goals should change…
Now believe me when I tell you that every time you have accomplished a goal you are one step closer to your destination and you are going to fell great about yourself. But what’s really important is that you need to keep on going and never stop until you have accomplished what you set out to do!
So the next time you are sitting around watching TV, why don’t you decide to create your road map and start setting some goals? And by doing this, success will be right around the corner.
Cheers to Your Good Life!

Now Revealed For the First Time – The “Doing What You Love” Principle

I’ll tell you this, when you are on your road to success, every day is an exciting day.
Every day is special because you love to get up in the morning and say: “Yes! I’m happy to be awake and work on my goals” (or something like that, lol) When you do what you love doing, it doesn’t seem like work. Yes, you do work hard but its fun. And believe me, there’s never enough time to do it all because time goes by so fast.
Have you ever experience that? A time when you were doing something you love so much that the time flew by? I’m sure you have! Just take a moment to think back at a time when you were doing something you really enjoyed doing… Do you remember how the time seemed to fly by?
Could you imagine doing that every day? Waking up every morning and actually enjoying getting out of bed! Could you image how that would make you feel?
I want you to think about that for a moment. Take the time right now. Stop reading this article, stop anything that you are doing and really think about what you love doing and how it would make you feel if you could do that every day!
You know what, you should actually write it down instead. Write everything that you LOVE doing and write how it would make you feel!
By doing this, you are slowly changing the way you think. This is actually one of the 6 secrets to success I teach my members. (You could learn more at www.cheerstothegoodlife.com ). Now changing the way you think is hard to understand and even harder to put into practice. Your mind is a very tricky thing. It likes to play games on you. So you need to learn to control it.
By writing and visualizing the thing that you love to do you’re learning to control your mind. I hope you stay with me on this one because I know this sounds crazy. I use to think so myself. But I decided to give it a try and guess what, yes you guessed it, it works. Visualization is very powerful!
But for now just write what you love doing on a piece of paper and place it somewhere you are going to see it often (bathroom mirror, on your night stand, in your car or maybe just in your wallet or purse)
I’ll be talking more about this. So don’t worry if you don’t fully understand or trust this method…
Cheers to Your Good Life

The “Quick Fix” Method for Success People
May 5, 2010 by Marc-Andre

When you are not satisfied with your life, you try to find a quick fix solution to make things better. You want something to happen right now! Unfortunately, life doesn’t work that way. You have to take action and you actually DO need to work and most of the time work hard in order to find success in your life.
Before I was on my road to success I tried to find that “quick fix”… I used to watch lots of TV and I used to actually stop and listen to those infomercials and purchase the “rich quick” product they were selling because I thought it was the answer to all of my concerns.
When I received the package in the mail I was so excited. I would open it and start reading the information right away. But after a few pages I would realize that it wasn’t as “easy” as the commercial said. I would actually need to work to achieve the success that all those people in the infomercial said they achieved… That’s when I threw the program in the garbage.
And you want to know what the worst part was? I did this many times and wasted a lot of money. To be honest with you I was really pathetic… Every time I saw a new infomercial I thought: “this is it, this is the answer to my problems.” But you guessed it; I threw it away as soon as I got it.
But do you know what? All of those programs could have been the answer to my problems. Because I didn’t want to work or what I like to say: “Taking Action”, I was wasting time and money! Sometimes I think about how my life would’ve been if I actually started investing my time and energy on the programs I purchased instead of trying to find a “quick fix”.
Here’s the hard truth, and you’ve probably even heard it before: life is not easy! I wish I would have learned this “life truth” years ago. Now when I mean ‘learned’ I don’t mean “Oh ya I heard that before”… But I mean really understand it: “‘Life is not easy’ means that I need to take action and work hard to make it ‘easy’”
But the reality is that we all know that we need to take action and work hard but for some reason we don’t and we complain about how other people have found success and we didn’t.
No one and I mean no one has gone through life without having to struggle or work hard towards success. I challenge you to think of anyone and really research that person to see the struggle they’ve had to face in order to find the success that they can now enjoy. Here are a few people you can look-up if none come to mind: Donald Trump, Lance Armstrong, Oprah Winfrey, George Foreman, Ted Rogers, Paul Desmarais, Cindy Klassen, Micheal Phelps, just to name a few…
I hope you get inspired when you are researching the life and struggle of the successful person that you have chosen. And you realize that there is no “quick fix” solution for successful people. Hopefully you’ll even use that person as “mentor” to help you find success in your life.

The Strange Reason Why Waking Up Early Will Help You Find Success
April 21, 2010 by Marc-Andre

I was talking with someone the other day who was telling me how upset he was because he had to wake up 10 minutes earlier in the morning. He told me that the line at the coffee shop (Tim Hortons) was getting longer and longer and he couldn’t afford to arrive late at work anymore…
It’s funny because this person is actually using two of the 6 secrets of success that I teach my members (check out my site for more information www.cheerstothegoodlife.com) and he doesn’t even realize it. He’s actually taking action and changing the way he thinks in order to get his coffee!
Taking acting = Waking up earlier and changing his routine to get his coffee
Changing the way he thinks = realizing, reminding and repeating to himself that he needs to wake up early in order to get his coffee. (But this particular person is not doing this very well… keep on reading to find out)
Now a lot of people actually do take actions but they don’t necessarily change the way they think in order to find success! Changing the way you think is not an easy subject to understand but this is the most important secret to success. And this is also the most difficult secret to success to understand and to implement. Once you do learn to control your mind you’ll be able to achieve anything you want in life.
Let’s come back to the person that has to wake up early to get his coffee. Unfortunately this person is not using the “changing your way of thinking” secret properly. I know I told you that he is doing it but he’s not using it in the right way. And here’s why, from the start he is complaining and giving excuses why doing this is not fun. And because of this, the odds are he is going to quit waking up early and he is going to keep on arriving late at work (and maybe even get fired).
Understand this, nobody is telling him to drink coffee. He’s telling himself that he has to drink coffee. And he is actually getting mad at himself for the decision that he is taking. If he actually took a moment to think about what he was doing maybe he wouldn’t complain as much…
To change the way you think, you need to write down all the things you love to do and place the piece of paper in a strategic place so you can see it on a regular basis. And to utilise this practise to the fullest, you should wake up 5 minutes earlier so you can recite it and visualise yourself doing what you love!
If it’s playing golf than see yourself on the green putting for a birdie, if it’s riding a motorcycle than see yourself riding on a beautiful sunny day, you get the idea…
Again by doing this, you are slowly “changing the way you think” and understanding the actions you are taking. When you are focused on your goals, there is less time to complain.
Before you start complaining with what I just told you to do, I just want to tell you that the most successful people in the world wake up very early in the morning: Donald Trump, Oprah Winfrey, Lance Armstrong, Olympic athletes, etc. Yes they are big action takers but they also have learned to change the way they think to achieve success.
Now’s the time for you to do the same, now’s the time for you to change the way you think!

The “Remote Control” Principle
April 7, 2010 by Marc-Andre
People always complain that finding success is hard work and they don’t have time. I often ask these people what they do at night that makes them so busy. I’m sure you can come up with a list full of excuses right now. And I’m always surprised to see that there’s really nothing that holds them back. It’s the perception of their life style that makes them think they are too busy…
Now I do have to admit when you have kids, it can get very busy; Supper, homework, any after school activities, baths and putting the kids to bed, just to name a few…
But when the kids are off to bed, what do you do? And if you don’t have kids well you don’t have any excuse…
I sometimes look back at the days I didn’t have kids and I ask myself: “what the hell was I doing that was more important than finding success in my life?”
And the answer is…. wasting time watching TV! Now don’t get me wrong, I do watch television from time to time but I don’t spend 5 hours after work doing that! I’m all for winding down after a hard day at work but come on, that is just ridiculous…
Those who put the TV on when they get home from work and watch it until they go to bed are also those who complain that they can’t succeed in life. I know because I used to do that. And the sad part is that a lot of people do that!
Let me give you an example of how these types of people take action and don’t even realize it. And when I say “types of people” that used to include me… ( you can learn more about me and finding success on my site www.cheerstothegoodlife.com)
I remember when I used to watch TV a lot. I would spend hours changing the channels to find something good on TV. And since I did this, the battery would often die. I would hate this because I would have to get up from the couch, go downstairs, find some batteries, go back upstairs, take out the old batteries, put in the new batteries, walk back to the couch and sit down. Oh my god! Did you notice all the “Action” that I took! All of that for a remote control.
That’s ridiculous, the amount of time I wasted and the action I took for a useless “goal”!
Could you imagine if I took all that action towards my success instead of wasting it on a remote? Just imagine if I would have read a book or wrote down some goals that I would like to accomplish or search for different training programs I could take instead of spending my time looking for a “good” TV show.
I would have been better off for sure!
But what you need to realize, like I did, is to stop wasting your time watching TV and changing the batteries in your remote. And if you use that action and put it towards success, your life would change drastically!
So the next time you are ready to sit down and watch TV or worse, if you need to change those batteries in your remote, just stop and think to see if there’s something better you should do with your time in order to find success in your life.
