New Year’s Resolutions – Living with Soul Tip

At this time of year many make New Year’s resolutions, i.e. lose weight, give up smoking, get that new job, etc and these are all very good things to be doing. Some succeed with their good intentions, some do not. Last year I started my ‘health year’. It was good until Easter then it became a struggle. It had been hard work and I started giving myself good reasons to slow down with it. After all it has taken me 15 years to gain my weight why should I expect to lose it in 1 year. So although I am a lot healthier now than I was this time last year I did do a lot of backsliding. It is by utilizing our soul energy that we see the results in this life. How can we take advantage of this time and motivation to bring this soul energy to life?
Step 1 – Decide upon your top 3 core values. What are they? For example we often say our families and our relationships are the most important thing in our lives, yet how much quality time do we devote to them. A few years ago I took this to heart and my children and I have lunch together once a week. It is not set in stone but we all make that effort to make it happen. Sometimes it can be difficult, other things (usually my work) can get in the way very easily if we let it. Or going back to ‘losing weight’, if we really believe “the body is the temple of the soul” why don’t we look after it? It is much easier to believe it’s not. We manage to keep our homes in good order, spending time cleaning, decorating etc. If we don’t, they lose value when we want to sell them so we tend not to do so.
Step 2 – Put them in order. What is most important to you, where do you want to make the biggest changes this year?
Step 3 – Review what is practical and feasible. Don’t give yourself goals you can’t achieve. Lots of little steps will get you there.
Step 4 – Make that personal commitment to yourself, to be the best you can be in this area or these areas of your life and pat yourself on the back for every small step you take.
Step 5 – Diarize them. I know this sounds crazy but what usually lets most of us down is we forget. After all it is a new routine you are creating, a new and positive habit, and like breaking old habits it can take time to do so.
Step 6 – And when you forget and backslide, just smile and forgive yourself and pick up where you left off.

It is amazing how simple fun tools can actually manifest into reality. Everything (bar one) from my last vision board has manifested itself. One or two took two years but they all became a reality.

Welcome to 2011

2010 may have seemed like a roller-coaster, challenging personal and cultural beliefs. We have looked at things differently and it may have appeared to many (it certainly has to me) that the belief structures upon which we have built our lives have crumbled around us. What this means as we go into 2011 is that we are being given the opportunity to build something new out of all the same bricks and mortar (i.e. our knowledge and experience). Building stronger foundations upon which something better and more peaceful can be constructed. As the old has been dismantled we have grown in strength, courage, and wisdom and now it is time to rebuild.
You will be pleased to hear this year should be a lot more peaceful, not only individually but also collectively, with the emphasis on world peace especially around Armistice Day with the magical energies of 11.11.11, but more that later in the year. The way forward is for us each to focus on bringing a sense of tranquility into our daily lives. In Chinese astrology the 3rd of February marks the beginning of the year of the White (metal) Rabbit. Interestingly enough the Rabbit motto is “Let there be peace and let it begin with me.” As we focus this year on bringing more peace into our own reality then so we will spread peace to our world. This will not always be easy, as I have learned whilst faced with personal problems etc, it has been so easy to revert to old patterns of “trying to control outcomes” rather than trusting that there is a positive purpose to everything and observing how it all fits so neatly into place.
2011 is a year for growing diplomacy, not just within our relationships and between our cultures but also within ourselves – letting go of being too hard on ourselves. We may well find ourselves being more diplomatic in our relationships and dealings with others. We will be mending fences and probably not using traditional materials to do so. New ways of ‘doing’ are being born so we may “be”. People will find ways of co-operating rather than dictating and judging others. Harmony is going to be the key. This does not mean that you stop following your dreams, but that after the last year of spiritual awakening, your dreams are now in line with your soul’s purpose and therefore you will feel more harmony within yourself as you seize the opportunity to enjoy the moment as well as the opportunities that present themselves to you.
For those of you, like me, who like to charge ahead and get results yesterday, it will be a lesson in patience, in knowing the divine is working within you and that everything will come to fruition in divine time. As the energies speed up we then experience this paradox and it becomes our lesson.
Maintaining peace and harmony within and empathy and sensitivity without will be the individual challenge for us all over this year. Harnessing our minds to work for us to create the peace and harmony within which will create and grow the expression of the compassion which we are. The speed of attainment will not be the issue it will be the depth of the foundations that matter. We are in the processes of building a new world order as we focus on creating our individual realities and we would not want it to fall down like a house of cards. “Time and tide may wait for no man” as they say but without solid foundations nothing can last.

Angels are spiritual beings who can bring blessings into your life. They can help you find love, security, abundance, joy, laughter, peace and forgiveness – all you have to do is ask. Angels are divine creatures who have never lived as humans, unlike spirit guides who were once mortal. The term ‘angel’ means messenger of God or the creator, and the idea of angels is universal, crossing many religions and cultures. Consequently, angelic beings have an often confusing hierarchy surrounding them. But you don’t have to worry about precedence or even names in order to connect to your angel. Just focus on the type of angelic energy you want to draw into your life.
Your personal angel
Everyone has a guardian angel who watches over you during every lifetime. These personal angels carry the blueprint for your soul, which means everything you have chosen to experience before you were born. They cannot interfere in your life unless you ask them, and what you ask must be for your highest good and the good of others. However, if you are at a low ebb, asking for angelic help can lift you spiritually, so you can see a way through difficult times.
Your guardian angel is always listening to you but you have to ask for help. Don’t be afraid to address them, as there is no right or wrong way to talk to the angels. Concentrate your energy on sending a message, then let it go and wait for a reply. People often say prayer is asking and meditation is listening to the reply. But in my experience, answers arrive in many different ways, such as a line of text in a book that your eye falls upon, song lyrics, or people coming into your life. You need to be aware and look out for the signs or you’ll miss your angel answer.

*Find a place you will be undisturbed for at least half an hour. Play soft music in the background, light a candle or incense to set the mood. Breathe deeply nine times. Imagine you’re breathing in peace and light, and breathing out tension and negativity. So every breath makes you feel more relaxed.
- Imagine yourself in a happy, safe place. Then with each out-breath, imagine roots growing from your feet deep into the ground, so you’re connected to Mother Earth. Feel the Earth energy rising up through your body, relaxing you and shooting out the top of your head into the sky. You feel lighter and lighter as you float along the silver rays going up into the universe.
- Floating across space you see and sense a beautiful temple. It is the temple of your soul, where your guardian angel is waiting for you. You approach the temple, floating up the steps and inside. You hear beautiful angelic music and see, sense and hear your guardian angel waiting to meet you. Notice the energy around you, feel the unconditional love your angel has for you. What colours, smells, sounds do you experience? If you cannot sense anything, then imagine what they might be like. Ask that they appear in your imagination. Talk to your guardian angel and listen to what they have to say. Ask for the help you need. Notice the symbols your angel shows you.
- If you see, sense or hear nothing then know that the information will be coming to you in many ways over the next few days. Know that you can return to this place anytime you wish. Rest with you guardian angel. When you are ready, gently return along the silver thread back across the universe back to your beautiful safe place. Notice how differently you feel now how your perception has changed. Gently bring yourself back to consciousness. Have a glass of water to ensure you are completely grounded.
Top tips – How to bring angels into your life:
- DECIDE what you want. Is it a relationship, new house, career, or a quality of energy such as forgiveness, happiness, security? Be aware that requests may manifest differently than to how you expect.
- ASK for what you want. Ask from the heart for what you need. Angels do not read your mind they listen to your heart. Be connected emotionally to what you want when you are asking. If you have lots of issues, ask the angels to sort out what needs to be done first and imagine them lifting your burdens from you.
- Be SPECIFIC about the qualities you want. If asking for a new home, for instance, ask for a happy, peaceful home that’s perfect for you right now. Don’t demand a specific mansion!
- NOTICE the signs. Pay attention to any coincidences as these may be your angelic message. For instance, perhaps you find a parking spot outside an estate agents you never normally use.
- ACT on the signs. In our imaginary estate agent scenario, this means you should look around this estate agent. Your dream home may be waiting for you there!
- TRUST that everything is exactly as it is meant to be for your highest good and that of all others concerned. So when you see the dream house at a price you can’t afford, just make the best offer you can and wait and see what happens.

In May of your 2010 year Jupiter, the planet of “The Soul Triumphing over Matter” will be catching up with Uranus “The Awakener”. The planet that links humanity with the divine. This will enable you to further awaken and explore your soul connection. Many new teachers will come to the fore, lighting the path for others to follow.
As you each individually let go of the fears that bind you to the past, to the misconceptions of your world, as you clear your chakras and raise your vibrations from the 3rd dimension through the 4th 5th and beyond, then so you will all individually affect the knowledge of the collective and enable more and more of your kind to open to the realities of love. As you all let go of the material and begin to appreciate that you create your own reality by the way you think and feel then so you will refocus your thoughts and feelings to create a new world for yourself and thus your planet.

Jupiter represents the soul triumphing over matter and your world is currently in a space where matter and the pursuit of matter has become connected to happiness. Now more and more of your kind are appreciating that the material is much less important than your experience of your world through the expression of your soul through your life. During your year of 2009 this would have been seen from your world as going backwards (retrograde) and has been aiding in the release of the material. Now it will bring its attention to further awakening the spiritual within the individual and collective. As the wisdoms of many ages and cultures have become available to everyone, a new spiritual awakening has been taking place for many of your years. During this year of 2010 you will bring unconscious awareness into consciousness. You will break through your personal and collective boundaries. As those blockages are cleared from your chakras through consistent self-development, then so your heart centres will open further as will your awareness and your connection to the divine.
