KEEPING LIFE SIMPLE – HOW DOES LOVE MOVE THROUGH YOU?

There are many quotes referencing the the power of love, such as ‘all you need is love’, ‘love makes the world go around’ but have you ever taken the time to notice how love actually moves through YOU? What is your relationship with love, do you embrace it, do you fear it, do you feel empty without it and do you search for it in all the wrong places? Giving or receiving love feels good either way. All anyone really wants in this world is to be loved for who they are. Love is the essence of who we are, and when we recognize it we feel free and complete, because love in and of itself, is boundless and free. How do you express love? Some of us do so by being creative, giving hugs, taking the time to give someone our undivided attention, paying compliments to others, buying or creating a meaningful gift, cooking a meal, writing a poem, singing a song, dancing or simply being kind or compassionate to others.
There are thousands of ways love is expressed throughout this world. There are also times when people choose to withhold love as a form of emotional control. But the truth is, love is who we are, there is no one or no thing that can get in the way of us receiving love but if you choose to keep your heart closed, you are the one who is depriving yourself of the love that is available to all, it’s everywhere. A question you might find useful investigating is ‘can I keep my heart open and love, no matter what’? This can be a tough question to answer, investigate if you can tell the truth to yourself about this. Look at circumstances in your life in this present moment and become aware if you are withholding love from yourself or others.
How does love move through you ? Do you love your SELF when you are feeling vunerable,? Can you love your SELF no matter what is happening in your life? The most important relationship you will have in your life is with your SELF. Can you love your SELF without judgements and expectations; can you stand in front of the mirror and honestly say to your SELF ‘I love you’? Love is the life force that flows through everything. When we become the love that we are and express acts of love it naturally flows back in many different forms.
Love flows through humans, animals, flowers, trees, mountains, books, art, food, buildings, clothing, furniture etc. It is the discovery of ourselves in everything. If you are holding back love that is a source of suffering for yourself or others make a conscious decision today to move from a place of love no matter what and see what happens.
My beloved teacher, Gangaji once said, “The love that you search for everywhere is already present within you. It may be evoked by any number of people or events. A mountain can evoke this love. A sunset can evoke this love. But finally, you must realize you are this love. The source of all love is within you”.
Honor your spirit and walk towards the journey your heart desires.
