I’m feeling bright as a fire cracker this morning, and very lucky for my whole life.
How are you doing today?!
I read this amazing amazing amazing quote and I wish I could tell you who said it but in essence the question asked was:
What if you only woke up today with the things that you thanked the Universe for yesterday?
That question sparks the feng shui of the day, all about saying thank you in a much more profound way!
When I work with people on their homes and lives I see the state of their gratitude by the shape of their environment. Literally, the condition of things reflects the amount of energy they give to what they have.
Dying plants, no space to sleep in a cluttered bedroom, an office that is a tornado, a kitchen that is unused or overrun with stuff, broken things that abound, half-finished projects: all reflect a lack of gratitude. Where you stop caring, you stop creating whatever it is that you are supposed to be creating.
In Buddhism, cleaning your altar is part of the actual practice. The way that you care for each piece of important incense, candles, fruit and the entirety of the set up is a function of being grateful and offering thanks to the Buddha.
Your home and your life are a reflection of how much thanks you have for each gift that has been given to you.
When you neglect things, they cease to exist.
Someone once told me a theory that I am begining to see come to light: how you do one thing is how you do everything.
How do you approach everything in your own life?
Do you approach things with presence and real commitment? Do you find yourself phoning in your life and waiting for days to end? Are you more the effect of things than the cause of the life you are living?
An idea for the day, and for every day:
Thank people and objects around you. Start by thanking the people closest to you for all that they bring to yur life. Thank your plants. Thank your animals. Thank your electronics. Thank your furniture. Look at each thing and see what condition it is in.
How can you show that you care more? How can you step into the paradigm shift where you are focused in there here and now and not fixated on what you lack? How can you lift the energy of other people rather than wait for them to lift you?
This is where greatness happens. By all accounts, this is where things become enchanted.
