If you’re going to live from your soul then you have to listen to its wisdom. As a psychic and a medium, I believe that most of the drama in our lives manifests when we don’t live in accordance with our inner guidance. Your soul knows what it wants and needs. If you’re not in alignment with it, then you can become off-balance and the outside world then manifests what’s happening on the inside.
Equally, there will be times in your life when your soul is screaming out to you. You know the times when the thoughts resound loudly in your head: “What am I doing?” or “I really should get a grip on my life!” or “I can’t keep living this way!” When you find yourself asking these questions, it’s usually during a particularly busy, emotional, or traumatic time in your life. This is a big clue that your soul is trying to get your attention.
I call these moments: Soul Cry Outs. Your soul is yelling at you saying: “Hey! I am here and you haven’t paid any attention to me at all lately!” “I can help!” At times like this, it will send up signals to your psychic and physical senses depositing markers along the way, even in your dreams. The power of the soul has no boundaries, and I even believe that meeting strangers who somehow bring with them hidden messages is not an accident. Your inner guidance can bring up a thought, an action, or even manifest a situation in your outside life to get you to STOP and think of what’s happening in front of you. Next time this happens, and you’re faced with a decision or choice, try asking yourself: “What would my soul want me to do?”
In today’s society, it’s easy to get caught up in the day-to-day routine, adopting the same schedule every day, over and over. We pull away from the source that infuses our soul, which only exacerbates the feelings of being tired, drained or confused. It’s easy to become immersed in your work, or caring for someone who is sick or even family issues. Sometimes, though, you have to force yourself to check-in and re-connect with that soul source for its power, wisdom and guidance.
You’re the driver. It’s up to you to put the brakes on, or press the pause button and say: “I am listening and I am open. Please help and show me.” If you really mean it, and you’re prepared to act on the guidance given, then anything is possible. Get out of the way, because by just asking you’re tapping in to the power of your soul.
Situations and opportunities in your life will shift and begin to manifest, and this begs the question: Will you let them or will you choose to stay where you are? I really believe that one of the things that stops us from being truly successful, is the lack of belief in ourselves.
Your soul will always lead you back to a place where it is safe and a place of constant guidance. Take the time each day to listen for the connection or it will get harder to reestablish it every time. You deserve it, and owe it to your whole self to take at least 5 minutes for yourself everyday. If you are or have difficulty finding that small amount of time, then you better take a real hard look at how much you value all of you – body, mind, and soul.
Here is a wonderful exercise that will allow you to check-in with yourself and your soul, and at the same time help you to make a positive shift, so you don’t have to keep doing what isn’t for your highest good.
Soul Check-In Exercise
Intuition flows on the breath. It’s also filled with the universal energy that enhances your overall well-being. For this exercise, just close your eyes and breathe deeply. Relax, and let your awareness bring you back into your body. Follow your breath to the quiet, still place within your heart. Take a few breaths into this area and continue to relax until you feel grounded. Your body and mind will begin to grow quieter with each breath. Let your thoughts come in, just simply notice them, and then watch them go out again.
Imagine in your mind’s eye that as you breathe in and out, pure universal energy is running up and down your spine. As this energy flows through your body, it’s clearing and spinning your energy centers (chakras) as your soul becomes infused with source energy.
Next, bring your awareness into your solar plexus area, and ask your intuition and your soul if there’s something it wants to tell you. Breathe and pause here for a moment, acknowledging whatever comes. As with this exercise and others I have suggested in previous newsletters, I recommend that you keep your soul journal nearby, so you can journal your thoughts, soul flashes and intuitive messages.
This exercise is also great if you have a decision or choice that needs to be made. Get a post-it note and stick the following affirmation on your computer or some place where you’ll see it clearly every day. It will be a reminder to check in with your intuition and your soul before you hastily move forward.
“I pause and ask before I act”
