Marina Spence founded The Pink Edge (www.pinkedge.com) in 2007 to help women change their work or their attitude toward work.
Her book, Make Every Day a Friday! The Joy of Connecting Who You Are With What You Do (Morgan-James, February, 2009) will help you to successfully navigate the world of career and purpose, and leave you with solutions, practical actions, and spiritual insights. Road tested during Marina’s years in the aggressive, fast-paced atmosphere of Wall Street, the book reveals the Stress-Free Career Change System. The system helps women learn what it is they love, while loving what it is they do.Marina’s diverse background makes her a natural to talk about career and self-discovery. After obtaining a master’s degree in social work from the University of California at Berkeley, she co-organized the first farmer’s market in a California inner city. She eventually left community organizing and, after years of not knowing what she’d do when she grew up, became a computer programmer and later, software project manager. She has managed global projects for clients such as JP Morgan Chase and Morgan Stanley.
Marina has over 25 years practice with the #1 stress-buster, meditation. While she knows she wasn’t the only person on Wall Street who meditated for an hour before work, sometimes it felt that way. She also taught meditation in Manhattan, often rushing to the class after meeting a client’s urgent deadline (and what deadlines from clients aren’t urgent?).
Now Marina juggles management consulting with being an author and mentor. She lives and works in the San Francisco Bay Area.
