Over the last several months my business has slowed down, income is lower than expected and I have been re-evaluating what my dream is. I am sure we’ve all been there, if not going through this challenge as you read this article.
What do you do? Is the career that you’re in the right one? What would it take to be happy and make the money you need to enjoy your life? Do I have to go back to school? The list of all the questions you can ask yourself goes on and on.
I’ve personally been there through several careers: working in warehousing, security officer, computer consultant and now as holistic lifestyle coach. Over the years I really didn’t have a plan of what I wanted to do until I became a computer consultant, and the focus was, you guessed it “money”. It didn’t matter what I did, how many hours I worked. I was only concerned with how much I was going to get paid.
This was my mentality for up to 8 years until I realized money wasn’t everything. I kept getting sick. My back was going out every few months. My health was decreasing. My weight was increasing up to the to my max which was 238lbs. Job security was nice but if I didn’t like the job or the people I was working with, what was I really doing? They say “money can buy you happiness” and I agree that’s true, but only if your happiness is in material things. I found out like some of you reading this article that material things can be taken away as quickly as you obtained them.
I finally got frustrated at work and started to take it out on my job. I really didn’t like my position, who I was working with and started to develop a lot of emotional stress-to the point where I had to take time off for stress leave and quit my job. It was hard since I really had no direction and felt better not being in that environment which made me think it was the job itself. Until I took the Personal, Professional & Spiritual (P.P.S.) Success Mastery Program – created by Paul Chek. This program really made me re-evaluate my life in all areas: personal, professional and spiritual.
I give people the analogy that if you are thinking about planning a vacation you do the research where you want to go, who you want to go with, what type of people are going to be there, and where you want to stay. Then you plan out traveling, expenses, your schedule…etc., I am sure you get the point. Why don’t we do that for our lives? Why don’t we draw out a plan for our personal, professional, and spirituality life? We do it for a vacation but not for ourselves?!!!
Once I finished the 18 week program, I had my blue print of my legacy which has helped me understand my journey in all areas of my life. It has helped me overcome challenges as well as kept me on track when times were rough.
Since the completion of the P.P.S Success Mastery Program I’ve had my clients develop their own legacies and live their dreams. Over and over again I find that when people develop and live their legacy their lives completely change. I have seen challenges in their lives decrease from weight loss to illness subside. It is amazing that when we are on the right path in life how we can feel so much better personally, professionally and spiritually.
