A garden is a grand teacher. It teaches patience and careful watchfulness; it teaches industry and thrift; above all it teaches entire trust. ~ Gertrude Jekyll
This week has been one of many emotions. When these moments happen, you realize that it is important to stay close to your heart. At the same time, it is not about us. These are those moments in life that life takes over and you know that this river is too wild, too strong to go against it. So you better choose to go with the flow. My mother in-law is ill, she is not waking up. It is not clear what is going to happen. It is a period of many questions and not too many answers.
What is it we wish for her? What is it she wants? What is our decision and what is her’s? The one thing I wake up with and go to bed with is, how can I help? We all carry so many emotions and interpret them all differently. The meaning of words – it is important to think and feel before speaking. Of course I do speak to her and she’s to me. She is trying to communicate and we are all trying to listen. It is all at a completely different level – which brings beautiful light to this very dark situation.
When we have to let go and take every hour as it comes, we have a different perspective to life. The values change and our thinking change. Our lives change. We see the events around us differently. Maybe because we let go and trust that what is coming will be the best – even if we can’t see that at the moment.
