If you are passionate about finding a career you love and creating your best life, you must begin by first becoming CLEAR. Clarity in your vision for life and work is very important. Most run their life on what I call an ‘auto-pilot mode’, not really envisioning their ideal life, mostly because that’s how they have been conditioned. They’ve been taught to accept things as is without questioning.
Few years ago I wrote a quotation – “Happiness is when your heart, mind and soul are aligned”. When you pursue work or are involved in activities where the tussle between all three isn’t present, you will experience happiness and fulfillment at your deepest level. Problem is most don’t go to that deep level; they are either engaged in a career where either the intellect is involved and heart and the soul missing or are only aligned partially.
You create a fulfilling career by creatively capitalizing on your unique talents, passions, values and who you are as an individual in your core. Once you gain this clarity, you have the ability to articulate your gifts you gain the power to actively use them, or leverage them, in your life.
The more you know about yourself the more power you have to create the life you most want. The more you understand, the more you have to work with. Self-discovery is a starting point and an important component of creating the work/life you love to do.
Why is it important to discover your passions? I would say pursuing passion is what will keep you energized. Passion = Fun, excitement, Alive energy. And that feels good, doesn’t it!
If you are passionate about creating your best life including the work you love, it’s going to take energy and effort. And your passions will give you the energy to do the work you need in order to create the life you most want. That’s because what we are passionate about is what we care deeply about.
If you feel like your life is stagnant and your career is not going anywhere, it could be because you’re not involved in anything that excites and energizes you. Discovering your passion/s will ‘turn on your power’ so to speak and solve this problem for you. That’s because once you discover and understand what you’re most passionate about and find the words to articulate your passion, you can begin organizing your life around them. This will allow you to leverage THE BEST of who you are to create a life you love. That not only leads to a life that works well, it leads to a life that feels great from the inside out!
So where does one begin; here are seven questions that will assist you in your discovery-
1. What do I have the ‘most’ fun
2. What brings me immense joy, peace
and a great sense of validation?
3. What do others look up to me for?
4. What do others like about me most?
5. What are those activities that
when I do I just lose track of time?
6. What ideas and things am I most
