You’ve heard the phrase “when you point the finger at someone else there are four more fingers pointing back at you right?” Many of us forget this concept and go through life blaming others for the negativity in our lives. I want you to become aware of the times you point the finger at someone else and literally look at those fingers pointing back at you. For each time you blame someone else I challenge you to find four reasons or ways that you contribute to the situation in which you blame another person. If that’s too painful or difficult; identify four realistic and achievable ways that you can change the situation for the better.
Charity begins at home and if you don’t love yourself how can you love others? It is so important for us as people to take a serious and compassionate look within before we can reach our full potential. This means being candidly honest about our strengths and limitations. If you are seeking success, peace or abundance I challenge you to begin practicing self-assessment daily. You must take it a step further by taking inventory and creating a realistic plan to change who you are and become the person you want to become. Self-assessment like self-reflection according to the New Age Spiritual Dictionary means “using our higher consciousness to observe, review, examine and judge our thoughts and behavior and contemplate the larger order of nature; listening to the voice of our large self; not accusing others but realizing that we are always the cause of our own destiny and we have to change ourselves.” As you begin your self-assessment (reflection or meditation) you will want to one essential question in mind. What is my higher purpose? Once you discover your higher purpose in life you will be able to live life with passion and gain the ability to bring goodness into yourself. When you bring goodness into yourself, you in turn will project goodness into the world. The following questions can help you discover your higher purpose.
What are my top 3 core values?
What makes me feel alive inside?
What is my soul calling me to do?
What is my soul gift or my reason for living?
You are your core values; they express what it means to be uniquely you, at a far deeper level than any ideas or opinions you may express. They also define what you stand for and why you exist. Take your time and allow a soul answer to emerge instead of writing down the first thing that comes to mind. The ultimate goal is to focus on you (instead of blaming other people) and blossom into who you are meant to be on a soul level, to live your soul calling full out and show up in the world in the purest essence of your soul.
It’s your life and no one Else’s. Get out of the blame game and ascend into a higher arena of your life. Step boldly into the soul-FULL living stadium and be victorious!
