Want to add attitude, flair, or sophistication to compliment your appearance? Accessories are the magical ingredient to creating and controlling the look you desire. I must say I am an accessory girl at heart. Jewelry, shoes, bags, belts, scarves, glasses; make-up and so on can dramatically enhance and or change your look. Accessories give your outfit the wow factor! They are the all important final details that add spice, attitude and mood.
Discovering the art of accessorizing is a valuable and fun-filled skill that will enable you to expand your wardrobe options and give the appearance that your wardrobe is at least twice its size. We have Coco Chanel to thank for the abundance of accessories found today. It was her strong spirit and imagination that dared to conquer the belief that one should only wear the real thing. This gave women from all walks of life the ability to develop and beautify their clothes as successfully and easily as their wealthy sisters. In fact, these days it’s often difficult to tell the genuine item from the fake without expert assistance.
Accessories can transform an inexpensive garment into one which appears to carry a designer label. If you choose to go less expensive with your outfit put your dollars into a statement pieces; like a great bag and pair of shoes. Shoes are my solemate and to me the ultimate statement piece. They’re the one accessory that makes me feel powerful, confident and sexy!
Not all accessories look right at all times of the day or year. It is the material that the item is made from and the color that will determine its appropriateness to the season or time of day. Your accessory personality/style can be; Natural, Feminine, Dramatic, Classic, Elegant, Sexy or Creative.

Once you determine your accessory style, you must know your size and build before choosing your magical items. Your bone structure ultimately determines your body type and your scale. Are you fine, medium or strong?
Fine/Small Scale: Consists of a wrist measurement of 5 ½ v or smaller, plus an ankle measurement of 7 ½ or smaller and a height of less than 5’7”. Consider small to medium sized accessories, you will drown in most statement-making necklaces so stick to more dainty bracelets or hanging necklaces with fine chains and beading. Chunky shoes are a no-no.
Medium Scale: Consists of a wrist measurement of 5 ½ to 7 ½, plus an ankle measurement of 7 ½ – 9” plus a height exceeding 5’4 ½ “. Those with this structure have the most variety however try sticking to more classic pieces and avoid anything too thick or thin.
Strong/Large Scale: Consists of a wrist measurement of 7 ½ or larger, plus an ankle measurement of 9” or larger, and a height at or exceeding 5’7”. The correct size of accessories for a strong/large scaled women; is medium to large. You can pull off large, statement-making necklaces and thick bangle bracelets but be sure to steer clear of lighter pieces like tennis bracelets or delicate pendants.
