“We all know that our body needs nutrition, but so does our Spirit.
When the body is hungry we feed it food. Unrest, dissatisfaction and an inner calling can all be spiritual hunger pangs.
When we satiate our physical hunger pangs with just anything, the body does not receive proper nutrition and does not run at its optimal level. When we instead become conscious consumers of nutritious foods our bodies will run with ease and last much longer.
When we “feed” our Spirit with techniques, ideas and actions that help it to flourish and spread its light to the world, we experience life as more peaceful, purposeful and passionate.
A deprived body can’t just jump in and eat tons of “good” food. It will reject it because the body is not used to it. Instead it needs small bites so that it can come accustomed to these foreign foods. When the body is used to eating Mc’Donald’s it can’t just start eating alphalfa sprouts! It can have little bunches on a sandwich. Once it gets used to foods with higher vitamin and nutritional content it can move on to more.
