At noon, I stopped working and gave the 2 kids here with me one on one time. I setup a nice warm bath after lunch to help calm the crazies. The crazies are the not approved behavior when the kids are really seeking some kind of attention. If they feel they haven’t been paid attention to – they will seek out any kind of attention be it negative or positive. That being the case, today we did a bath after lunch to calm the crazies.
We bring everything in the bath from trucks to barbies to dinosaurs and really anything that is not electronic or paper will make it to bath time in our house. Today was a trucks and dinosaurs day. I sat and watched them play.
A 2 and 4 year can make up so many things. Their play is not bothered by boundaries or limitations. Their thoughts run freely and are not grounded in how things should be or how things are; they are in the moment and completely fulfilling. A dinosaur can fly. A truck can drive in water. A Barbie can be a submarine. There is nothing that limits the possibilities of what can be.
I seek to be that way – boundless in thought and love. I seek to be imaginative and open to all possibilities. It is effortless when you are young – as everything and anything is possible. It is a lack of fear.
I truly believe any limitation in thought or action is spawn from fear of something. It’s just figuring out what that fear is and taking action to remove it. So in this day, I challenge you to remove all limitations placed in your life. Be open to those all around you and do not limit your thoughts or actions. Seek to remove all limitations of love and to let go of any fear.
Why can’t you call that friend and just say hello? Why can’t you paint the kitchen purple? Why can’t you send out the Christmas cards you never got to in February? Why can’t you open your windows in winter and let the fresh air in? Why can’t you change your career? Why can’t you change your life? Why can’t you just do it?
Limitations are in most cases are self imposed and can be over come.
